I was recently asked to do my very first custom orders for a fantastic and very sweet family, and the finished products came out so well!
When a young man and his mother visited my booth, I was thrilled when he compared a particular piece attached to one of my bottle stoppers to the amber in Jurassic Park - it's good to know the next generation is being raised with the classics! They asked some questions about my process and told me they have these animal skeletons: the young man's grandmother had recently passed away, and he found these specimens while helping clean out her she-shed. They asked whether I could preserve the creatures in resin as memorial pieces for his grandmother, and I nearly burst with honor and joy! The young man and I discussed his vision for the colors and shapes, and I realized I hadn't asked his name. Now, those of you who know me personally are aware that The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe is my favorite children's book - to the point that I have the lamppost Lucy comes upon when she first enters Narnia tattooed on my arm. When this young man told me his name is Aslan, I could've fell through the ground. After absolutely fawning over his name for a good while, I assured him that I'd take extra special care of his creatures. This project was directly up my alley, I had such a blast with every second of it, and I was so honored to have been asked to preserve these creatures as memorial pieces for Aslan. ♥️♥️♥️
I love doing custom work, and - after giving it a good bit of thought - the list of things I wouldn't be willing to cast in resin is very short 😁
So, if you have items you'd like to be preserved and have hesitated to ask around for fear of the looks of judgement you'd get, look no further! Just DM me here on Facebook, on Instagram, or email me - [email protected]. The "weirder," the better! I'd be thrilled to make sure your precious moments, no matter how "strange" society may see them, stay safely preserved and last a lifetime!
