Here is the cleaned up Hathaway chert mini fluted point that got the eastern deer mouse (Peromyscus maniculatus).

The shot passed clean through both lungs, exited the opposite side and buried itself in the snow.

The mouse collapsed instantly and lasted for about four seconds after impact.

Posting the point here to show there was absolutely no structural damage to the piece at all, just a light film of polish still on the edges.

After a soak in peroxide followed by a bleach water solution for a little over an hour it came out clean and unchanged. Always interesting to see how well this material holds up even at this very small scale.
