Greetings Bindery Friends! Just a "heads up" on Monday Nov. 17th, from 9am to 2 pm we will be without electricity due to some planned upgrades to the electric service on our street. We will have phones forwarded to our cell phones and if you stop in, we WILL be there to wait on you, perhaps via candlelight. So, we may be a little slower in getting back to you that day. Thank you for your patience.

On this Veteran's Day, I am remembering (Henry) Bud Grimm who was our "fearless leader" for years here at the Bindery. He proudly served in the "mighty" Eighth Air Force during World War II. Bud was a mentor to all of us at Grimm Book Bindery and is greatly missed, but not forgotten. Thank you to Bud and to all the other veterans who served our country so we could live in peace. We are truly blessed!

Bindery Wildlife Update: The Cranes are still here and getting ready to head south for the winter. The family of Wild Turkeys that were around in the Spring has recently returned from their Summer travels. Maybe just trying to get out of any hunting areas in time for Thanksgiving ;-) The Cranes and Turkeys get along wonderfully, no fights or squabbling over space. Often just hanging out together in the afternoon sun. Oh, and we're still binding books - Cranes & Turkeys just watch (often tapping at our windows - likely at their own image or a juicy spider). Well, after a long rest, we've decided to return the "Book of the Week" posting. Highlighting our favorite binding job or just "The Story Behind the Book". This weeks book is a special edition "Touched by an Angel" 200th Episode book that our customer loved. Well, their dog loved it too and chewed a corner off (left book). We recreated a new cover for the pages (right book), using plates to match the original artwork and now "Fido" is out of the doghouse! Bound in our "Chocolate Glaze" leather with black foil embossing.

Note: We had our parking lot sealed today (Wed June 11, 2025). So, the lot will be closed today and tomorrow. The Bindery IS OPEN, so if you do come today, you'll just have to take a leisurely walk across the right side of our beautifully groomed lawn, past the tall pine trees to the sidewalk in front of the building, which will lead you to the magical glass door entry of the Bindery. Sorry for our mess! If the walk is hard for you to do, you can call the office from your car and we'll give you "car hop" service!

It's SPRING at the Bindery! Our nesting pair of Cranes (lovingly named "Bud & Heini") have returned! They came and started squawking at our windows this afternoon! And then... they had to fight off the Turkeys that were moving in to let them know this is THEIR territory! We love the wildlife here at the Bindery :-) 😍
