From the Magee Chamber: I just wanted to reach out and let you guys know that the Farmer's Market is still scheduled to happen tomorrow. Rain chances have increased somewhat for the morning but we are continuing with our plan since the percentages are low. We do, however, have a back up plan just in case we wake up to rain. The alternate location is at the large covered shed on 1st Ave. NW across from Gene Polks and the old Pearson building.

Show support for this event and the Mize Volunteer Fire Department.

The 48th Annual Mississippi Watermelon Festival will be held on July 17th & 18th, in Mize, MS. The MS Watermelon Festival is a fundraiser for the Mize Volunteer Fire Dept, and all proceeds go to the Fire Dept. Everyone in the Fire Dept and everyone that helps put the Festival on are volunteers. Putting the MS Watermelon Festival on each year allows us to not just raise money for the Fire Dept, but to bring a great event to our community.

Been a rough day in Simpson County. As most of us know, there was a standoff situation that turned into a double homicide. Then heard that State Representative Price Wallace passed from a heart attack this afternoon. Price was a friend of Renew Radio and had the privilege of interviewing him a few times. Pray for our county. Lots of people hurting tonight.

Don't know a lot of information but there are reports of a Simpson County Sheriff's deputy getting shot in the foot. Again, information is spotty and don't know a lot. Here's what we do know. We NEED to Pray! Pray for a quick resolution. Pray nobody else gets hurt. Pray for protection for our first responders.

Rankin County SWAT is responding to an active shooter incident.
