God has blessed me with a precious gift this year: to spend less time with work and more time with my girls 💕 Yesterday’s special Mass was the “passing of the light”, from the graduating 8th graders to our rising 8th graders, who will become leaders of the school. During Mass, I watched the littlest kindergartner walk by and thought, my girls used to be like that not long ago.

I’m so grateful to be present in all of their progressions, milestones, and passages this year. I’d have to miss all of them in the past because of work 😭 And though my girls understood my absence, they shouldn’t have to. I know they appreciate my being there for them now because it shows. It shows in their character, their integrity, their academics, their sportsmanship, their kindness, their confidence, their humor, their growth, and in their faith.

I know God has great plans for us up ahead, but for now, I’ll just revel in these moments 🙏🕊️

I hooted and hollered. I cheered. And…I may have even cursed a little 🫣🤣 But y’all… I had the BEST Mother’s Day weekend just sitting back and watching my girl leave it all on the volleyball court 🏐 Oh, and winning second place overall in the Gold bracket finish was the icing on the cake 🍰

For the last 6 years, Mother’s Day weekend has looked a whole lot different around here — delivering bouquets all over town, hosting Afternoon Teas, setting up Rose Bar, and working through one of the busiest weekends of our entire season here at the farm.

So this year felt different. Slower. Sweeter. A little unfamiliar, if I’m being honest.

Part of me felt guilty… like I should be working, because this is usually go-time in the rose world. But the other part of me knew this was A GIFT — one I wasn’t supposed to miss. 🥹

After the weekend-long regional tournament, my family took me to an early sushi dinner, and I came home and treated myself to some of my rarer home-grown roses. Because if there’s one thing about me… I will always find my way back to the garden 🌱

This Mother’s Day looked different than the last several years, but maybe that’s what made it so special.

A little rest. A LOT OF GRATITUDE. And a quiet feeling that God may be using this pause to prepare me for something, dare I say, even greater ahead 🙏

Turns out, the best bouquet I got this Mother’s Day was getting to watch my girls bloom. 🥹🏐🌹And boy do both of them make this mama so humbled and proud at the same time!

Sending virtual love and many beautiful wishes to all my kickass mamas, mamas to-be, and papas who have to play both roles!

Happiest to you all!! 💐

Sending EXTRA LOVE and good vibes to all my gals longing for this day and others longing for their mamas. My heart is with you 💝

Giving teachers their flowers… literally. 💐🌹

This , we shared our farm-grown rose arrangements with the educators who love, lead, encourage, and pour into our kids day after day.

A small thank-you for a very big calling.

Wishing I was creating this rose arrangement under different circumstances 🥹 Sadly, they’re in remembrance of a good ol’ friend whose gone too soon 💔

The family has asked for no gifts or flowers but…..I’m pretty sure these don’t count 💐 how do I show up without my most fragrant blooms for comfort?! 💕

Easter in the rain 🌧️🤍
Not quite the sunshine-filled photo op we imagined, but maybe that’s what made it feel even more meaningful. A little damp, a bit uncomfortable, and still so full of beauty.

This season has reminded me that resurrection rarely comes wrapped in perfection. Sometimes it looks like cloudy skies, muddy ground, unanswered prayers, and choosing to believe anyway. But even then, hope rises. Grace appears. And beauty still blooms 💐

So today, we celebrate the empty tomb, the faithfulness of God, and the quiet miracle of new life—right in the middle of it all ☦️

Happiest Easter, from our family to yours 🤍🐣

Armloads of fragrant blooms went off to brighten a few cancer patients’ day 💐 It took a tiny village to pull it off, and I’m so grateful for our sweet friends and for jumping in to help 🙏

And of course, as usual, the cooler chose chaos right when I had a big project to fill 🤦‍♀️ But nonetheless… where there’s a will, beauty always finds a way to bloom 💕

Spreading a little joy around the community… with a sick little one in tow 🤒 Apparently there’s a flu going around and it’s no joke 😩 Being sick is hard, but especially so for those battling chronic or terminal illness ❤️‍🩹 And cancer… I especially hate cancer.

In light of that, I’d love to share a little beauty and comfort with those who may need it most. I have 24 mason jars filled with our freshly harvested garden roses, just beginning to bloom for the season, and I would love to gift them 💕

If you or someone you know is currently battling cancer and could use a little lift, please drop a comment below or send me a DM 💐

I’m still figuring out the logistics, but the arrangements would need to be picked up from our farm on a designated date and time.

First harvest of the season 🙌 How I’ve missed my fragrant rose babies 💐 And peep the climber behind me… our Colette is in her 3rd season and finally ready for her glow up, slowly but surely taking over the pergola.

She’s been through it too — planted straight in native soil, no irrigation, watered mostly by rain, fed maybe once a year if that. I gave her a hard prune in February, trained her canes, and now she’s absolutely loaded with buds. Safe to say, she’s ready ✨

A lot of y’all asked what we’re feeding the roses, and truthfully… nothing lately. Now that their roots are established, they’re thriving on their own. The best thing we did was focus on pruning. Sometimes the simplest method really is the most effective. Varietal selection is also crucial for this climate too.

For newer roses, I do recommend a seaweed-based fertilizer + Osmocote Extended Release to help encourage blooms. And yes, Colette is still one I highly recommend for Southern gardens 🤍

As for the farm… yes, we still have it, at least until the sale closes 💐 That’s all I can share for now, but I’m hoping to have better news soon 🙏

Also, I had hoped to host a spring potted rose sale, but the potted plants still need a little more love before they’re ready for your gardens. Thank you for your patience as we navigate this season of change 🫶

New year. Fresh beginnings. Limitless possibility.

Every year Shaw and I plan to put more efforts into our Vietnamese heritage and culture, starting with the celebration of the Lunar New Year. We do this partly for ourselves but mostly to pass on the traditions to our girls. And disappointingly, every year something else always takes precedence like farm chores/business or some sort of home renovation project that’s on a time constraint. We’ll have to just make it a priority next year 🙈 Grateful to AI for creating a vision of what could be Lunar New Year at Life In Rose Farm. It’s glorious! 🧧

May this Lunar New Year of the Fire Horse bring you balance, beauty in the everyday, and the courage to bloom where you are planted. Wishing you a year rooted in love, joy, prosperity, health, and divine favor.

Chúc Mừng Năm Mới! 🌸
