Susanne Sightings - where am I?

Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company

Our volunteer Fire Fighters work hard to keep us safe - the least we can do is help them in their request for water and drinks (see list of items in the picture). They started collecting donations today at 7 pm (fyi that’s a minute ago) and they already have this much and there is a steady feed of vehicles. Sometimes the public steps up big!!!! Thank you for taking care of my Hometown Heroes!!! If you can’t get here tonight - please follow their page to find out when they will be accepting more donations. Also check your local departments for what they need!!

Please be careful out there. If you have pets, please bring them in or make sure they have available shade and lots of water. Make sure you have lots of hydration. For those working in the heat - take breaks, drink up and be safe!!! Please check on the elderly, the young and those working out in this heat!!!!

Günter n Susanne Sightings - where did we go today?

Killens Pond State Park

Günter - Mommy and I took a 2.73 mile walk today on the Pondside Trail. It was a beautiful day. We saw lots of hoomans walking, running, fishing and boating. Some of the hoomans had doggies too - all shapes and sizes. BTW one of the lady runners told me I was beautiful 😍. We had a great time!!! We love this park!!!

Delaware's Largest Annual Used Book Sale!

If you read (adult or child) at all - this is the place to go - they will be there over the next week. The selection is insane - I came home with 9 books for $9.

And the proceeds benefit the Lion’s Club CR Scholarship Program. Win - Win!!!!!

Susanne Sightings- what was today’s adventure??

Longwood Gardens

After three hours - and 11,000 steps - and over 100 photos - and some beautiful weather albeit a little windy - I call this a perfect afternoon.

If you have never been here - well what’s wrong with you?? You definitely need to grab your most comfortable shoes and head to PA. Personally, I would suggest planning on four visits - each season gives you such beauty - spring flowers, fountains, fall blooms and Christmas lights!!

Susanne n Günter sightings - where did we start our Easter weekend??

Towns of Camden and Wyoming - they may have one zip code but they are two towns with two governments and two police departments and many great places to go.

We started at Brecknock Park in Camden and walked to the dog park in Wyoming and finished our adventure at Tre Sorelle Dolce hand-dipped ice cream & italian ice for a pup cup and a waffle cone!!!!

A great way to start the Easter weekend!!! Enjoying the weather - exploring local and shopping local.

Susanne n Günter sightings - where was our adventure today???

Brandywine Creek State Park, Thompson's Bridge

Today we packed up the purple backpack and headed north. At the Park, we took the Tulip Tree and Hidden Pond Trails that start at the nature center. Then we drove over to the Thompsons Bridge section and walked part of the Brandywine Trail, took the Rocky Run Trail and finished on part of the Creekside Trail. It was a beautiful day!!! Our hiking had us in both a state and national park.

Günter even got to go in the creek for a nanosecond lol. You know he loves the water. After we wiped all the mud off him - he was allowed back in the car. Total miles walking - 4.67. He - as always - was a good boy on the trails.

Note for my Kent Countians - nothing will kill your delusion that you are in good shape - til you drive north and hike a trail in Wilmington and remember Kent Cty is freakin flat 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

A shout out to Riedel K9 - thank you for Günter’s training - and for providing me with the tools to enforce such - i love that i can take him hiking with me. It allows me a partner. Also i can give him full leash on the skinny trails and he will not pull - which is a beautiful thing when we are hiking down 😅 And it is so heartwarming to hear everyone speak of how well trained he is on the trails. Especially when he never makes a sound at people, bikes or other dogs. As we were leaving two dogs were going at it 😂😂 barking and carrying on. Shouldve sent them to you lol.

Susanne n Günter sightings - where were we today?

Gordon Pond Trail

Günter - today Mommy packed up her purple backpack that Cissy gave her for Christmas and off we went. She says it’s like having a toddler - idk what she means. Apparently we went to Lewes today because soon i won’t be allowed on the beaches - idk why - I’m better behaved than most hoomans. Also, Mommy says soon there will be too much traffic and no parking - and something about being a taxpayer - she sounds a little irritated when she starts on about that. I’m just glad we were able to go. I can’t really go when it’s too hot. I overheat easily.

But i digress, once we got there we took a 5+ plus mile walk on the Gordon Pond Trail at Cape Henlopen State Park. It was an out and back trip. We saw lots of hoomans, doggies and bikers. It was a beautiful day. When we got to the end we sat for a few and Mommy gave me some water and treats - ohhhh now I understand the backpack/toddler comment…..Many people told me I was “beautiful” ☺️ and well behaved. When we were done with the trail - we crossed the street and walked down to the beach - Mommy’s “happy place”. It was a great day!!!!!!
