The stories that made Pueblo still speak. And in 2026, the Pueblo Star Journal will bring twelve of them to life in a yearlong storytelling journey across the soul of our city.

Twelve months.
Twelve stories.
One community whose past still guides our way forward.

From the First Peoples of Pueblo to the steelworkers, immigrants, innovators, artists, and everyday neighbors who shaped this place, this series is our invitation to walk the footsteps of those who came before us and learn how their stories help us navigate whatever comes next.

Your support makes projects like this possible. During the campaign, every donation strengthens independent local news in Pueblo and ensures that stories rooted in truth, history, and community continue to be told.

If you believe in this work, please donate today. Your contribution keeps the stories alive. DONATE https://loom.ly/Py7hO5Y

The picture is getting clearer. Lucky survived the flood waters of 1921 and later a fire on Union Ave, proving he could make it through hell and high water. Now he is kicking up waves and heating things up again in this brand-new design created just for the PSJ Mug. This year, your morning coffee comes with art, storytelling, and Pueblo pride. Each mug purchased sends $1 to the Pueblo Heritage Museum, where Lucky lives on. Thank you to Tuxedo Ranch, our partner for both the first edition and the second edition mugs, proudly supplied by a local Pueblo business. Preorder today: https://loom.ly/JzrHDxQ Available around Dec 15. Watch for the next reveal… we’re getting closer.

Something historic is stirring. Before Lucky became the beloved PSJ mascot, he survived the 1921 flood and later a fire on Union Ave. He literally made it through hell and high water. Now, a new chapter begins. Pueblo artist Sophie Fernandez is reimagining Lucky for our 2026 PSJ Mug. Piece by piece, we will reveal the design. Each mug purchased sends $1 to the Pueblo Heritage Museum, Lucky’s home.

A special thank you to Tuxedo Ranch, who supplied our first-edition mugs and is once again our local provider for this second edition. Preorder now: https://loom.ly/JzrHDxQ Mugs will be available around Dec 15. Stay tuned… the first hint is just the beginning.

Today, the House votes on the Epstein Files Transparency Act, a major step toward uncovering long-buried truths.
The act requires the Department of Justice to release all unclassified records related to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation, including flight logs and internal communications. Certain information, such as victims’ personal details, would still be protected. For many survivors, including those who have shared their stories in the PSJ’s Gimme Shelter reporting and podcast, this vote is about transparency, accountability, and justice. We will follow developments as they unfold. Gimme Shelter, Gimmer Justice: Breaking the Silence After Epstein LINK: https://loom.ly/bHCx6t4

Honoring Those Who Served. This Veterans Day, the Pueblo Star Journal pauses to recognize the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment of the men and women who have worn our nation’s uniform. Pueblo is the Home of Heroes, and their stories live in every neighborhood, every family, and every generation. Today we honor their service. Every day, we strive to uplift their voices. Thank you, Veterans. Pueblo stands with you.
