Hello! I’m no sure if this is the right place to post. Many years ago, I visited Mount Morgan, Australia. In the graveyard there, I saw a gravestone with strange symbols. I could never work out what they meant. I have thought about the symbols from time to time, and recently searched it on google to show my partner. To my surprise, others have posted the grave - but no one has been able to interpret the symbols, leaving people to come to their own conclusions- including that it is a ‘witch’s grave’ or a Freemason’s. For some background, Mount Morgan was an old gold mining town founded in 1882. The grave belongs to someone named ‘Francis Wilson’ - 1860 -1889. The grave seems well looked after, and well made. (Australia was only colonized in 1778 and Queensland in 1859). It would be interesting if anyone could offer some insight into the meaning of the symbols- as it appears to be a real mystery.
Edit: I found some further information that says Francis is from Aberdeen, Scotland on findsgrave.com. The grave is on its own (which I distinctly remember), and it’s reported it faces West.
