We checked baits til 8am and finally found one to work with! Was pretty much a rinse and repeat of last week. After trying to run the bait nothing came of it. Around 10 o'clock after all dogs were captured, decided to walk Rainbow dog into the same place she jumped last weeks bear at! She started straight lining on about the same track, before we knew it she was moving out, heading the same way as last week, but not barking yet. Once she committed to one direction we drove around and got in front of her. When we got there she was barking and coming fast, she crossed the road, and didn't even acknowledge us. Nose to the ground, tail in the air. Dumped 2 of the girls in behind her, and Brandon dumped2 more dogs , and we knew the bear was fu**ed then! 30 minutes of a few circles and a figure 8 and Bam, Treed! 450 yard walk, after a nice swim to cross the stream, Brian Taylor, sealed the deal with his Daddy's shotgun! This is why we do this! Hunting with hounds will take you places you never would have vetured! God's creation and beauty never ceases to amaze me!We put the drive into the hounds, but the hounds put the drive into us!

Another one for the memory book!! Dropped the ladies on a bait just after daylight and they left the bait screaming! We drove around to another road close by thinking they would cross and the truck must have turned the bear and then they were treed! A nice , dark , thick 140 yard walk in to the tree, with the sound of fall music echoing through the morning forest! Bear was so far up in the tree we couldn't see it! After playing peek a boo for 10 minutes Ron was able to place a beautiful shot and bear #1 was on the ground! 24 minutes from truck to harvest! An hour of pics, field dressing and extraction to the truck we said let's go find another one! So we decided to head for some baits we knew had morning bears! We checked the first one, and the bear had broken the chain on the shaker barrel. Carried it off 75 yards. The site was all tore up! Guess Yogi had a picnic! Checked the camera and he just left at 6:04! That is a major f**k up on his part! It is now 8:20. Dropped the girls and they left screaming again! We listened to the chase for about 20 minutes and decided to work our way out of the bait road to get better signal. About halfway out the popped up treed! So we went into Nascar mode, fast as f**k boy, and raced about 5 miles around them to a different road, to find them treed 90 yards from the road! A quick walk in, and secured the girls away from the tree and Travis harvested bear #2 at 9:04! 2 bears by 9 am, Awesome! We truly are blessed to have our own piece of heaven to listen to our family, ( and yes, they are family) doing what they love, sounding off, while chasing these magnificent creatures, echoing throughout the region! Nothing Better!

That's a wrap for training season! Finished it up with this fine specimen of a Maine Black Bear. I offer affordable hunts for the working man! Pm me and you will be surprised at how cheap they are compared to the going rate! I don't do this for the money, I do it for the satisfaction, and the dogs!
