When you own a small business it’s easy to do a lot but harder to track if it’s making a measurable difference. So instead of wondering if things are working, let’s track them easily.
Create different links for every marketing item. Are you handing out flyers? Use a QR code to a specific page on your website that only tracks that flyer. Do this with digital ads, classes, events…anything you’re promoting. At the end of the month look at your website traffic. It will give you a good idea if your marketing worked.
If your sales don’t follow a lot of visits then your marketing is working but your product or offering isn’t. That’s a clear indicator that something needs to change. It could be your pricing, product offers, difficulty checking out of your site…But this method gives you a road map of how to move forward.
