Sorry to hear about Victor Miller passing away this week. He was best known as the writer and co-creator of "Friday the 13th," but he also wrote several books before the Jason franchise took off. I found this book years ago at Salvation Army for a dollar. He published it in '78, the same year that he did "Manny's Orphans" with Sean S. Cunningham ( Friday the 13th director).

Victor Miller wrote nine "Kojack" novels before branching off to do his own books. This is his second original novel. It's very dark and intense from the get go. The villians would feel right at home in a Richard Layman book. I wish someone would adapt it into a movie or limited series. It would translate well to the screen. Miller's last book was released in '81, right after the major success of the original "Friday the 13th."

It's sad to lose another iconic guy this week, but at least he lived a very long and full life. Thanks for all the Crystal Lake memories, sir. 🙏 RIP
