In Case You Didn’t Know

A Green Star Family is the family of a Veteran who died by su***de.

For generations, America has recognized military families through the Blue Star and Gold Star Service Banners. But for families who lose a Veteran to su***de, there has never been a federally recognized symbol honoring both their Veteran's service and their family's sacrifice.

That's why Green Star Families of America was founded.
Our mission is to Recognize, Honor, and Connect these families while working to establish the Green Star Service Banner through the Sgt. Walter F. Hartnett IV Green Star Veterans Service Act - H.R. 6022.

Recognition doesn't erase grief. It tells families:
Your Veteran served.
Your family's sacrifice matters.
Your nation sees you.

No family should feel invisible.

If this is the first time you've heard of a Green Star Family, we invite you to learn more, share this post, and help us bring awareness to families who have gone unseen for far too long.

Together, we can ensure their service is remembered and their families are recognized.
