💫 Meet the Team

🖌️ Rachel Nohe
Creative Director & Lead Layout Designer

Rachel will oversee the visual identity and layout design of the DMV Empowered Business Magazine. Her role includes creating and maintaining the core magazine template, ensuring a cohesive and elevated look across all issues, and collaborating on the design and presentation of sponsored content and advertisements. Her creative leadership will help set the visual standard for the magazine long-term.

Bio:
Rachel Nohe is a communications professional with experience in public relations, strategic messaging, and event coordination. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from James Madison University in Media Arts and Design with a concentration in Creative Advertising. Rachel is passionate about community engagement and storytelling through design. In her free time, she enjoys exploring local trails and hiking with her dog, Winnie.

Senior Feature Writer & Cover Story Editor

Astrid will serve as our lead writer for cover stories, transforming interviews and provided content into compelling, polished feature articles. She will also collaborate on sponsored content and internal copy, helping ensure each issue tells a powerful, authentic story that aligns with our mission and audience.

Bio:
Astrid Gutierrez is a communications professional specializing in strategic communication and brand management. After graduating from George Mason University in May 2023, she gained experience in the non-profit sector, where she focused on digital communications and helped organizations strengthen and refine their social media strategies.
