This is my first Mother’s Day as a new mom, and my heart is so full .
I still remember the moment I held you for the first time — how tiny you were, how loudly my heart was beating, and how everything in my world shifted in an instant. Becoming your mom has been the most beautiful, terrifying, exhausting, and rewarding thing I’ve ever done.
I’ve learned that motherhood means surviving on barely any sleep yet somehow finding energy to smile when you look at me. It means crying in the shower some days because I feel overwhelmed, then laughing at 3 a.m. because your little yawn is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. I’ve mastered one-handed texting , and changing diapers at record speed.
There are moments I feel like I have no idea what I’m doing… and then you’ll fall asleep on my chest, and suddenly I understand everything. I’ve never loved anyone or anything this fiercely. I’ve never been this tired, or this grateful.
To every new mom out there: you’re doing better than you think. Even on the hard days, your love is enough. Even when you doubt yourself, you are exactly what your baby needs.
Happy first Mother’s Day to me — and to all the new mamas learning as they go. We’re in this together. 💕
