Last night, another LIFELONG DREAM came true 🥹 I got to speak and sign books at my favorite childhood bookstore, Northshire Books! 💗📖 I grew up in this store. I fell in love with stories here. I remember running up to the kids section on the second floor to see if they had a new Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys SuperMystery in stock. 😆 and eventually when I started writing I thought, “someday I’ll see my own books here!” Needless to say, last night felt surreal on so many levels. Thank you so much to everyone who came out to see me! We had a packed house and a line through the store and I could just weep with gratitude. 🙏😭 This was the best way to end the Make Your Story Matter book tour. Thank you also to Kendall and the entire staff at Northshire Bookstore for doing such a wonderful job with the event!

I have no words for how I feel right now... this week, you made Make Your Story Matter a USA Today bestseller!! 🤯🎉 I’m FREAKING OUT, not gonna lie. This has been such a long journey for me (for all of us!) and I can’t even begin to tell you how much this moment means to me.

Writing craft books almost never hit bestseller lists in their first week — because we’re not just competing with other how-to books, we’re competing with EVERY book out there, fiction and nonfiction.

I won’t pretend it was easy getting this book out there.
There were a lot of late nights, early mornings, grueling editing sessions, rejection letters, headaches (both literal and metaphorical), days I had zero energy yet dragged myself to the desk or the recording studio to narrate the audiobook... and honestly?
