🟥🐦 Did You Know? | Northern Cardinal Edition 🎶🌳

Did you know that Northern Cardinals are one of the few bird species where females sing just as much as the males, and sometimes even more during nesting season? 🎤💛

Their sweet whistles and sharp "chip chip" calls help couples communicate, defend their territory, and keep tabs on one another from afar. Talk about bird love goals! 💘

And here’s the best part: Cardinals don’t migrate, so you can spot their bold red feathers year-round here in the Midwest, even against a snowy winter backdrop ❄️❤️

📸 Have you seen a cardinal recently? Drop a pic or tell us your favorite place to spot them below!

✨ Did you know?! ✨

Some birds, like Chickadees, can remember up to 1,000 hiding spots for their food! 😮 Talk about serious meal prep goals!

Did you know?

Cowbirds don’t build nests of their own! Instead, they lay their eggs in the nests of other bird species and leave the parenting to them. This sneaky strategy is called “brood parasitism” and some birds end up raising chicks twice their size without even realizing it!

Have you ever seen a cowbird in action? Drop your birdwatching stories below! 👇
