Are you ready for an all-electric future? For the past decade or so, the auto industry has been slowly but surely preparing for just that. And they're stepping it into high gear.
A number of recent EV announcements and developments are showing just how committed to the shift they are! VW just made "the single biggest investment in Spain's history" of $10.6 billion dollars to upgrade their production facilities throughout Spain. Ford has announced their plans to build two huge battery plants, Hyundai is also building a large EV dedicated production facility.
This shift is even showing up in several "oil-friendly" countries, with Lucid Motors announcing an EV production facility in Saudi Arabia.
So, with this aggressive (and expensive) push towards electric vehicles...how do you, the consumers feel? Is all of this intense production canceling out the environmental benefits of the vehicles? Are you planning on switching from gas-powered to electric yourself? What do you think is going on?
