I got this crib to use for my daughter, only to find out it didn't have all the sides or hardware. It was so cute that I had to fine a different use for it.

Fast forward to now, I finally found a use for it. I dont have a porch or anything on my house so I had to improvise. In the yard facing the corn field so I can watch all the wildlife travel through.

Summer is here which means the kiddos are ALWAYS hungry. But, a lot of stuff gets forgotten about in the back of the fridge and goes bad.

My solution? Snack Trays!! These will most likely not make it to the weekend. Something about snack trays looks more appealing. 🤷‍♀️

The weekend was very productive on getting the garden ready. I still need to put up some trellis', plant seeds as well as transplanting plants I started as seeds, but I'm loving the way this is looking.

Living in the country means taking in all the animals that get dumped.

Meet our new barn cat. Who thinks he's a lap cat. Shoulder cat. Garden cat. A cat who does everything but hunt mice.

Still no name for the guy. So I just call him kitty kitty. 😂

Talk to me about hardening off plants.

I started these guys from seed, inside. The last 2ish weeks they've been in my garage (not insulated) with a light during the day. Every so often I put them out in the sun and wind. Ive been holding off planting them in the garden because the weather has been so up and down (Kansas). But I've thought about transplanting this weekend. Looks like temps during the day range from 84 Sunday to 59 Tuesday to 74 Thursday. Nighttime temps range from 39 (only 1 night) to 54.

Do I need to wait longer? Does my garage even count as hardening off since its not in direct weather elements? It does get as cold in there as it does outside. There's 0 difference in temps.

Don't worry about my sad guy there. Its a sunflower that needs to be planted soon for support. Lol.

Something that I've learned since moving back into the country..... it's not just 4 legged animals that try and kill you. It's also a plant lurking in your yard that goes undetected.

Conium maculatum/Cicuta maculata, or hemlock, is a highly poisonous plant that can kill within hours if ingested. Plus other numerous things if you even touch it without protective clothing.

This morning I spent a few hours going through my yard and pulling up as much as I can. This weekend I'll have to go through our brome field to see how much is out there. I have a feeling it's alot since I filled up a trash bag from my yard. 🤦‍♀️

Yes. This is a plant you cant even burn. You must pull up, root and all, and dispose in trash bag.

And I thought it'd be easy breezy living back out in the country. 🤣😂
