Nature is truly amazing this time of year… the rubber duckies have officially begun their annual migration through the river! Floating downstream to the lake in perfect formation, these bright little travelers seem right at home against the red rock cliffs. Blink and you might miss this rare (and slightly suspicious) seasonal event.

Would you stop to watch the rubber duck migration, or just assume you’re seeing things?

Holy nuts! Today was the day, we FINALLY spotted the elusive Northern Pygmy Owl, and it was every bit as special as we hoped.

Despite their small size (about 6–7 inches tall), these owls are fierce daytime hunters, known for taking down birds and mammals larger than themselves. They’re often heard before they’re seen, blending perfectly into the forest and making sightings incredibly rare.

Seeing one perched quietly like this was a phenomenal reminder of how much magic lives in the wild when you slow down and look closely. What an unforgettable experience.
