🚨🚨Tax information:
If you are filing taxes this year as self employment please make sure you really have a business and you have all the paperwork to support your business. The IRS is really looking into those who are filing businesses and they are not legit!!!
EIN needed, receipts, bank statements of money coming in and being paid out for supplies etc. Getting your LLC is always best and establishing your business is even better. You don't want them to come after you so make sure you doing it the right way.

🗣🗣To ALL Tax Professionals!!!

Here are a few tips that you need to keep in the back of your mind during tax season!

Before saying you want to do hundreds of returns please understand that Due Diligence is a MUST! Meaning those hundreds of returns that you'll be filing YOU or your preparer need to actually speak with them.

You CAN NOT automate EVERYTHING in your tax business. The information that you get and hear when speaking to your clients will be completely different from what you see on a completed tax questionnaire.

Do not be afraid to tell someone that you do not have the time to complete their return or that you are booked. Partner with a good friend or business that can take on your overflow. (I have 2).

If you are letting someone else use your PTIN and EFIN YOU need to make sure you check EVERY tax return that is pushed through. Even if they are only using your EFIN be sure to review all tax returns filed. (This is why it is important to properly train your people.)

All money may be green but all money ain't good money! Choose your clients wisely!

Take at least 1 day off each week to take a deep breath!

Only promise what you can give. Do not promise 24 hour turn around when you have a stack of returns in front of you. Don't be afraid afraid to charge an expediting fee if they want a quick turnaround.

If this is your first or second year FIND A MENTOR or someone that will help you navigate these tax returns and any tax questions that may arise.

Last but definitely not least TAKE A DEEP BREATH!!! You are handling peoples very important financial information and you do not need to be doing it stressed and tired. When you need a break take it!
