I need to create a space for it, but I put my old clock radio in the garage. Bought in the early 1990s, the once white body has aged to a light yellow, looks like a smoker owned it. But the clock, dimmer, radio, speaker, it all works perfectly. It’s served me in four homes including this one! Bang & Olufsen, Sony, Pioneer it is not… but it works.

Lexus provided the transportation for our days at Monterey Car Week this year and we were very impressed. It slid through traffic virtually unnoticed, thanks to its subtle, conservative nature, yet its red interior indeed raised eyebrows. A hybrid, it returned stunning MPG, needing just one fill up for the week, and it was shockingly powerful. Young Lexus enthusiasts knew more about the RX hybrid press car than I did. Great group of guys, very much fans of the Big L. Here you see their SCs and an LS from the 1990s, each modified in its own way.

The newly rebranded Gooding Christie’s Monterey auction raised a number of eyebrows thanks to their exceptional offerings and stunning prices.

The Mecum Auctions Monterey event was spectacular as usual. An interesting shift at Mecum has been their handling the rehoming of exotic cars ranging from Bugatti and Pagani to Lamborghini and Ferrari with Singers sprinkled in for good measure. They’ve come a long way in just 10 years.
