This includes all of western Arkansas. Watching closely the threat for a few tornadoes later today. Be sure to have a viable way of receiving warnings.

The NWS mentions an increasing tornado potential through the afternoon... Don’t get caught unprepared.

I spoke about this earlier today. Western Arkansas is at a greater risk for this. This includes places like Mena, Fort Smith, Van Buren, Texarkana, Foreman, etc.

Expect on and off showers/storms to continue today and into the evening hours.

There is some spin in the atmosphere, enough that could pose a low end tornado risk. This risk is likely confined to western and northwest Arkansas.

If you’re with friends or family today, have a way to receive warnings just in case.

Overall rain and thunderstorm chances are better today than yesterday.

I’m sure a few of these storms will be stronger, but the best chances for severe weather will be west of our state.

Expect an uptick in activity after lunch.

Severe thunderstorms continue tonight. These storms are very strong and a tornado warning still exists in eastern Oklahoma (near Heavener).

Flash flooding could become a big issue as the storms continue to move slowly in the area.

Don’t drive into flooded roadways!

There is still uncertainty about severe thunderstorm chances later today. High resolution data isn’t necessarily helping either.

The atmosphere may recover enough later for a few stronger thunderstorms, but it appears overall the chances will be limited. Still wouldn’t be surprised to see a severe thunderstorm or two.

If anything changes I’ll let everyone know.

The SPC has upgraded regions of Arkansas to a slight risk for this afternoon.

I spoke about severe weather earlier this morning and my thoughts haven’t changed. Expect stronger storms by this afternoon, some of which could pose an isolated tornado risk.

More rain and storms are on the way today.

The threat of severe weather is relatively low, but there is some spin in the air and instability. Wouldn’t be shocked to see a tornado warning or two.

That being said this isn’t a widespread issue and the severe threat is NOT high.
