Flying as the midlife wife of a pilot isn't all champagne toasts and wingspan views. When a storm grounded thousands, guess who got grounded too? After last night's flight cancellation, I tried my luck with same-day-standby this morning and face-planted. But, as it turns out, it was all part of the plan... to spend quality time with my awesome fam! Uber dropped me off at my brother’s place, and I got to hang with my super fun and smart great niece and nephews. They ALL pinched me for lacking green attire, we had a Spoons showdown (they crushed me), and there was singing, laughing, and dancing galore - basically, music to my ears and a sight I'd have missed if I'd caught that flight. Big props to my sister-in-law, the ultimate cool Mamaw, for letting me crash the St. Patrick’s day fun. Life is short .. but 4 pinches today reminded me it was real and one I’m grateful for. See you soon KC … I think I’m finally going to Boston! 🛫
