Beautiful natural light while camping near Mt. Baker with .dawn and Emma back in 2016. I love the backlighting of the sun through the leaves. Being there in that moment felt like being in a shower of sunlight. There’s something about the shade that makes the light more dynamic.

From 2008 to 2013 I worked at Microsoft Research as a vendor, documenting emerging technology and the interesting people behind the work. I learned a lot during this time using a variety of photo and video tools, such as amazing lenses like the Canon fisheye I used to shoot these 2 portraits of my friend, Donald Brinkman. These are a couple of my all time favorite shots I’ve taken. Donald is a super cool guy with a very unique mind. The out of the ordinary POV of the fisheye is perfect. I’m so glad we went with it.

However, I do not advise attempting to fly a drone at Mt. Rainier National Park. 😎
