We are now one week into these bowel issues with Lieutenant Dan. The good news is she seems to be healed from the UTI. The problem is that the antibiotics are not helping the bowel situation, but they are necessary. She is also on a prescription probiotic to try to combat any issues.

We will be starting a new food to see if that helps with the GI issues. Once we can get everything under control we can go back to the hand expressions being a breeze like they once were!

Lieutenant Dan covering up her accidents is probably the cutest thing ever. Also happy to report that she is starting to feel better! It has now been 48 hours on antibiotics. The hand expressing has been much easier and so much more tolerable for her. Hoping she continues to feel better and better.

I can’t believe how much these little fluff balls have grown! They all look so similar that it’s going to take some time to remember who is who, but I do know we have 3 girls and 2 boys!

For name, it’s only fitting that these GREY kittens be named a GREY’s Anatomy theme! Not sure who is getting which name just yet, but introducing you to:

Meredith
Christina
Izzie (or should we do Lexi?)
McDreamy
McSteamy

I struggled with the second boy’s. I feel like McDreamy is a given, but I also want to honor Eric Dane by naming one McSteamy. BUT that means that we don’t get to have a George. Ugh, decisions, decisions!

Well this is something new and heartbreaking. Poor Lieutenant Dan cries and cries when we run upstairs for any reason. It’s so sad! I’m on a mission to teach her a new skill and show her how to go up the stairs on her own. Any advice?

Update from Lieutenant Dan’s trip to the emergency vet today. She will hopefully be on the mend soon!

Unfortunately, UTIs are extremely common in Manx Syndrome cats. This is more than likely something she will battle her whole life. I’m just so thankful it wasn’t anything worse!

Lieutenant Dan and I are hanging at the emergency vet today. Happy thoughts are welcomed! Poor girl is in so much pain and it kills me. 😭💔

Lieutenant Dan and Poppy got to officially meet the newest foster kittens today. Their reactions couldn’t have been more different though. 😂 I promise you, Lieutenant Dan is going to be besties with all of them in no time!

Here’s a little glimpse into our morning routine with Lieutenant Dan. She truly is such a good little girl with how she waits on her bed for me to come and get her each morning. She dreads every step of our morning routine, but deals with it with such grace.
