I TOLD MY DATE ABOUT MY SPECIFIC 3-YEAR RULE, BUT HE IMMEDIATELY LEFT AND BLOCKED ME – IS IT REALLY THAT WEIRD?
I went on a date last Tuesday night with Jake. It was kind of a blind date my coworker arranged for me with one of his friends. I'm a neurologist, so I have a weird schedule, and Tuesday was the only day that worked for both of us. Jake seemed really cool, and we clicked almost instantly. We started asking each other personal questions over appetizers to break the ice.
We were asking questions back and forth, sharing our dreams and aspirations. When Jake asked about my one to five-year plan, I happily shared my thoughts on my career, decorating my apartment, and maybe even getting a pet. I mentioned my love for travel and how I hoped to expand my bookshelf with my favorite novels. Then I told him about my 3-year rule.
Suddenly, Jake's face changed. He called the waitress, paid, and just left. I was totally confused because we were having such a good time. Later, I messaged him, sent him a selfie we took, and asked what went wrong. He told me never to contact him again and blocked me. Just like that.
The next day at work, my coworker, who arranged our date, gave me weird glances too. I asked him what the problem was and he confessed that ⬇️
