Therapists, I see you. Between back-to-back sessions, notes piling up, and never-ending emails, self-care often falls to the bottom of your to-do list. But here’s the truth—caring for yourself doesn’t have to take hours.
Sometimes, just five minutes can make all the difference.
Here are five simple ways to reset, recharge, and show yourself the same compassion you give your clients:
✨ Deep breathing exercise – A quick way to calm your nervous system before your next session. Try the 4-7-8 method: inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 7, exhale for 8.
✨ Stretching between sessions – Release tension (especially in your neck and shoulders) and get your blood flowing. Bonus points if you stand up and move around!
✨ Listening to a favorite song – Music is a powerful mood booster. Play a song that makes you feel good before jumping into work.
✨ Setting a “tech-free” boundary – Step away from screens during your break. No emails, no scrolling—just a few mindful moments for YOU.
✨ Hydrating & fueling your body – A small but mighty act of self-care. Keep water and a nourishing snack nearby to keep your energy steady.
You deserve to feel good, not just “functional.” Prioritize yourself the way you encourage your clients to.
Which of these will you try today? Let me know in the comments! ⬇️
