To all you moms, a big Thank You on this Mother's Day! Thank you for making the sacrifice to bring your children to music lessons, helping them practice every day, lifting them up them when they get discouraged, and helping to shape them into wonderful young musicians. Most of us would not be musicians without the support of our mom--especially me! My mom drove me to all my lessons, sewed cute dressed for me to wear at all my recitals, and so much more. (I love the last picture, where my mom fell asleep on the floor with me at a Suzuki camp.)

Santa at the Symphony this Saturday!

It's so important for students to see live music. This Saturday I'm playing a SUPER fun Holidy Pops concert with the Georgia Symphony Orchestra, and this concert will be great one for students of all ages! We will be playing lots of holiday favorites, with some unexpected classical tunes mixed in. Plus I'm told Santa will be there. Get you tickets below!

It's easy to forget what my studio looked like when we first bought the house. There's still lots of improvements I want to make, but I am loving getting to create a great environment for my students and their families!

Libby isn't technically allowed downstairs while I'm teaching, but sometimes I cave and let her come down. In which case she is ready to supervise students' technique with a watchful eye. 😂

Lots of fun little additions to the studio! New chairs, fun artwork, a wall hanger for my violin so I can grab it quickly while teaching, and of course, a dachshund wall hanging! 😉

I have often told my students that if their environment is happy, they'll be more likely to practice and to learn effectively. Whether it's decorating their practice notebook with stickers, putting photographs inside their case, or even just keeping their music books in a bag that they really love--personalizing your space is so important! 😊
