History of KMRL RADIO MARLIN TEXAS 90.3 FM
We come from a long line of radio business dating back since 2002 Originally with our FIRST radio station KJQN 100.5 New Orleans. This was our first station that was in operation for a little over three years until the Great Hurricane of Hurricane Katrina came and put the station under water and ended the services and hopes of that community due to the longevity of structure and monetary values versus rebuilding. This is when our media firm transferred to Central Texas where we became KGTR FM 91.9 and this station would serve the Caldwell and Cameron and surrounding areas for a period of 11 years with the expansion and popularity of obtaining a larger crowd we expanded to Waco 104.9 HOT R&B Hits station which then became our flagship and sister radio station to KGTR FM 91.9. KGTR FM 91.9 was then moved and phased out and went on the air October 1st, 2005 and it’s final on the air date was August 10th 2016 when the final goodbye show was aired with the last popular show of The Crazy Chris Talk Show that ended after 6 years and 250 weekly shows and 36 shows of The Crazy Chris After The Show. The station then aired regular music commercial free until November 2016 when they went off the air completely and everything was phased out and all operations went to the Waco/Bellmead location of Waco 104.9 HOT R&B Hits Station. Then in March 2018 KMRL RADIO MARLIN began construction and planning for a new independent operations apart and branched off from KGTR FM and WACO 104.9 HOT R&B Hits Station and became it’s own independent operators and owners in part of Crazy Chris from the original and only The Crazy Chris Talk Show and Chris Quier became the new founding personnel along with his wife Cheryl Quier in which no jurisdiction or affiliation with neither prior founding stations became Marlin’s second independent music variety with R&B as it’s flagship with variety mix hits and officially began airing on June 15th 2018. We hope that our new legacy will be around for many years to provide Marlin and general surrounding areas with much community awareness and entertainment.
