The animals, the gardens, the tractors—all of it is wonderful.

But the greatest part of this farm is sharing it with the people I love like my sweet granddaughter Norah.

This is the reason for everything I do❤️

Another visitor at the farm this morning… 😳

Apparently the toad buffet is open 24/7 at Black Dog Farm. This big watersnake decided our porch was the perfect breakfast spot! Ughhhh!!!

Relocated to the pond to live a better life AWAY from my porch! 🤣

Farm life: never a dull moment! 🤣

It’s getting hot!!!🥵

And we are getting desperate….
We are remodeling our kennels and need some help!

With temperatures climbing into the 100s, we’re doing everything we can to keep the rescue dogs at Black Dog Farm safe and comfortable.

Right now, we need at least 6–7 small mountable fans for our kennel areas, and we’re simply stretched thin trying to provide for so many animals.
We have taken in 20+ animals just this week! And more coming!

Every day these animals wait for adoption, they still need food, water, shelter, medical care, and now relief from the Oklahoma heat.

Many of them have already been through abandonment, neglect, or hard situations.
They deserve a chance to rest comfortably while they wait for their forever families.

If you have a fan you can donate, even just one, it would make a real difference. If you’d rather help financially, our donation apps and links are pinned on our page. Every donation, no matter the size, goes directly to the animals in our care.

We’re not too proud to ask for help. Rescue takes a village, and right now these dogs need their village.

Please share this post. Someone on your friends list may have exactly what these pups need.

🐱 Socks is looking for a forever home!

This handsome 2-year-old tabby is neutered, vaccinated, litter box trained, and an absolute sweetheart. Named for his four white socks, he’s a true indoor cat who loves people and home comforts.

He ended up at the farm, but he’s not a barn cat—he’s looking for a family and a couch to call his own.

Message Black Dog Farm if you’d like to meet Socks! ❤️

Born April 2nd and raised on a working ranch, these pups come from a line of proven livestock guardian dogs.

The boys—Tex, C**t, Cody, and Cutter—are all short-haired, confident young guardians and are ready to head to farms of their own.

The fluffy black-masked girl lounging in the photos is Taiga. ❤️

Taiga won’t be available. She’ll be staying right here at Black Dog Farm and joining our guardian team.

Their mama comes from our line of working LGDs, and these pups have been raised with livestock, space to roam, and the instincts guardian dogs are known for.

We’re excited to watch them grow into the next generation of farm dogs.

Pm us at the farm for your next LGD💕

💔 These two tiny babies arrived at Black Dog Farm Rescue late last night.

They’re only about 6 weeks old. They still have that sweet puppy breath. They’re still drinking milk and eating softened kibble.

They’re babies.
And we named them Skye and Sawyer.

Last night they arrived scared and uncertain.
Today they have full bellies, soft beds, and a safe place to land.

Now all they need is a family to love them.

Welcome to Black Dog Farm, little ones. Your best days are ahead of you. ❤️🐾

🐾 Meet Tula 🐾

Tula is ready for her next chapter.

At approximately 5 years old, Tula came to our rescue with a litter of puppies. Puppies all looked Anatolian Shepherd or Great Pyrenees so we suspect she has some of those breeds in her genetics.

She has finished raising them and has been an incredible mama. She is now looking for a family or farm of her own where she can finally be the one getting all the attention.

Tula is fully vaccinated, dewormed, heartworm negative, and currently still intact.

She is a wonderful farm dog who is EXCELLENT around large livestock and takes her job seriously.
While we have not tested her with poultry unsupervised, she does perfect around chickens, ducks, and geese when supervised!!

One thing we do know—she is not a fan of pigs and would do best in a home without them.

What makes Tula special is her independence. She doesn’t need constant attention or entertainment, she does great just being a companion.
She seems to warm to women quickly but loves everyone once she gains their trust and forms deep bonds with her people.
She would thrive as a working farm dog, but we can also see her being perfectly happy as a beloved companion in the right home.

Tula has spent her life taking care of others. Now it’s her turn to be cared for.

Normal people count sheep when they can’t sleep.

Farmers apparently process pineapples and oranges.

Couldn’t sleep, so I got up before dawn and turned a mountain of fruit into more than 80+ jars of juice, jams, butters, marmalade, and preserves before most people had their first cup of coffee.

Insomnia: 0
Pineapples: processed ✔️
Oranges: processed ✔️
Pantry shelves: getting dangerously full ✔️

Just another perfectly normal night at Black Dog Farm.

Morning shift change.

The big dogs are coming in from the west field after patrolling all night. While most of us were asleep, they were out walking fence lines, watching over livestock, and keeping predators thinking twice.

Now it’s time for breakfast, a quick check-in, and some well-earned rest before tonight’s patrol begins again.

Never underestimate the value of a good livestock guardian dog.
