Okie Girlz “Rooted in Oklahoma🌾 We design wreaths, floral arrangements & decor to make your home warm and welcoming, plus craft supplies to inspire your creativity!”

This business was started by my husband for my creative outlet. I was diagnosed with severe PTSD in 2012 and had to leave the civilian work force. I used my love of floral design and crafting to help calm my mind and deal with some of the challenges with my PTSD. Over the years I have met the most wonderful people in this community and made life long friends. Both John and I believe that good business includes great customer service and communication.

The past few weeks have been a creative whirlwind as I prepare for the upcoming craft show. With the event kicking off tomorrow, today's the day to pack up and drive to Oklahoma City. However, Summer's unexpected illness has forced us to adjust our plans. John and I have learned to be flexible, and we're now shifting our focus to selling my creations on Etsy. My best friend's words of encouragement resonate with me: knowing my worth and taking risks are essential to growth and success.

The Beginning

GWreaths began as a way to navigate the challenges of living with PTSD. In 2012 I was diagnosed with severe PTSD. As a result I had to leave my government career behind and life changed drastically. I had always been creative and crafty but lost the desire and joy in my former hobbies. I needed to find something new. Making wreaths became one of the therapeutic methods for my PTSD. Over time the sales of each wreath gave me the courage to leave the house and interact with people again.

I am a blessed to have the love and support of my husband, beautiful daughters, family and friends. I am thankful to the Lord for all the blessings in my life.
