Just finished up this beautiful foyer transformation in a historic East Marquette home. The client really wanted to do right by the era of his house. I decided to build picture frame molding going up the stairs to break up the wallpaper a bit and add a touch of elegance. I absolutely loved his reaction when he saw the results, “it looks like it’s always been there!” It’s so satisfying helping people love their homes a bit more. Now this foyer is bright and welcoming ❤️ .design.works

Another transformation complete! This client hired .design.works to make some changes to their dining room with the goal of visually tying the two adjoining rooms together. We decided to build some tall, dark wainscoting and add grasscloth wallpaper above. Running the grasscloth vertically creates a more consistent look without visible seams and gives the illusion of silk. The end result is a space that’s dramatic, elegant and inviting. A good wallpaper installer can make the job look easy!… but this recent job I completed was anything but easy. Wallpaper is not like paint. It takes a much more detailed and calculated approach. I pride myself on being a multi-disciplinary contractor. Expertise in handling many different materials and attention to detail is what makes Artisan different.

Attn: Marquette Locals! (or anyone willing to ship) I'm looking for someone interested in having one of their old, busted up fiberglass lampshades remade into a work of art similar to the one pictured below. If you have a shade or shade frame that needs to be rebuilt, doesn't have to look just like this, message me with a picture and we can work something out! If I can't find one to repair, I'll build one from scratch. Just wanted to put the opportunity out there first.
