Kingsyard sent us this beautiful bird feeder to try here on the farm and it’s so darn cute.

Not only is it adorable, it’s sturdy and functional. I love that it holds up to 4 lbs of seed, is super easy to refill, and that I can see when it’s starting to get low.

And judging by those last few clips, I think our birds approve too. 🤎

Kingsyard also gave me 20% off for you! I pinned all the details in the first comment.

I didn’t always think about where our food came from. I just bought what was convenient, like most of us did.

But the more I’ve learned, the more I’ve changed.

It’s not perfect but it’s a start.

I loved that little garden. I really did.

I got that condo after my divorce, during a pretty sad time in my life. My boys were in high school then, and that little 18-square-foot garden became such a peaceful place for me.

So many mornings I would sit on the patio with my coffee and just look at it. I loved picking something from the garden for dinner or standing at the kitchen sink washing dishes and watching everything grow outside the window.

And sometimes I would sit out there and imagine something more.

A bigger piece of land. A home. Big gardens. And someone I loved to build it all with.

Years later, I met Russ.

And eventually we found this place. Twenty-seven acres and a home we love. He helped me build the garden I used to imagine, and now we take care of this land together.

I think about that little garden a lot.

Not because it wasn’t enough. It was exactly what I needed at that time in my life.

But I also think it taught me something about dreaming.

If your mind, heart and spirit keep showing you a vision for your life, hold onto it.

You don’t have to know how you’re going to get there. You don’t have to see the whole path yet.

Just keep believing in it.

Sometimes the life you can see so clearly in your mind is already out there waiting for you. ❤️

Still working on the goats and highland cows. 😉

Ok so I’m actually being silly here. This man always goes along with all of my crazy ideas and usually with a big grin on his face. 🥰 He’s truly the best.

Things I know now that would have saved 30-year-old me a whole lot of overthinking (and heartache). 🤍

I spent too much time waiting for certainty before I allowed myself to move on.

You bring every lesson, every mistake, every bit of wisdom and every hard-earned boundary with you.

Some of the best things in my life came after the plans I was sure about fell apart.

Especially for women who have spent decades raising children and caring for everyone else. Your purpose doesn’t disappear when people need you differently.

Gratitude and desire can exist in the same room.

Fall in love. Plant the garden. Buy the land. Learn something completely new. Change your mind. Begin again.

You are still in the middle of your life.

There were years when my gardens existed mostly in my head and in an 18-square-foot patch outside a condo. Sometimes the things we keep imagining are trying to tell us something.
