Our LIVE weather camera network continues to expand! As you can see on the map below, we have continued to fill our map in with cameras set to be installed in the coming weeks! We are STILL searching for additional sponsors, and would LOVE to talk with you about how you can sponsor a weather camera in return for advertising!

We use these cameras to help us track severe weather, winter weather, sunrises, sunsets, and even the northern lights! Our sister page Michigan Storm Chasers has successfully deployed over 65 cameras across Michigan, and has been a HUGE part of their operations in 2025. We are aiming to do the same right here in Indiana! You can find some of Michigan's cameras on their YouTube channel here - https://www.youtube.com/

Ideal sponsors are:

-Businesses/Business owners
-County or Local Municipalities
-EMA
-Internet Service Providers
and more!

We have a rare opportunity to see not one, but two comets, in addition to an ongoing meteor shower all on the same nights!

Here's the breakdown with info you need to know:

✅Comet C/2025 A6 LEMMON is naked eye visible. You should look on the western horizon about 30-60 minutes after sunset for best viewing. View it NOW through about October 24th.

✅The Orionids Meteor shower peaks on the evening of October 20th / morning of the 21st. You can see between 10-20 meteors per hour. There is no one set direction to look, but we recommend laying down and letting your eyes adjust to the night sky for 20 minutes to maximize viewing potential.

✅Comet C/2025 R2 SWAN is not naked eye visible. You will need a telescope or a pair of binoculars to see it. Look on the west-southwest horizon about 30-60 minutes after sunset for best viewing potential.

➡️Best night(s) to view all three will be October 19th, 20th, and 21st!

We are currently keeping an eye on this weekend for rain, storms, and yes - even potential for severe weather.

->Best chances will be later Saturday PM into early Sunday AM
->Severe weather chances appear highest in southern Indiana
->Damaging wind/brief tornadoes will likely be the main hazards
->Flooding may become a concern as well

There is still time for forecast adjustments, so stay tuned in for new updates. We got you covered here at IWN.

Last nights doppler radar across the Midwest and Ohio Valley depicted TONS of birds which are migrating south for the winter!
Around 400 million birds were in flight last night, with another 411 millions birds expected tonight, 7.7 million of those over Indiana.

Often times, a temperature inversion is present through the night time hours. This inversion is like a cap on the atmosphere, which can bend the radar beam downward making it easier to detect birds on radar at lower, near surface altitudes.

Pretty neat!
