Now she spends most of her days writing, hiking, skiing, and kayaking the lake near her home. Auna also cares for an older parent part-time. She lives with a standard poodle, a husky, a Catahoula leopard dog, four cats, and a herd of deer that regularly helps itself to her garden. While her characters and their stories are fictional and the settings adapted, Auna loves to weave in quiet nods to her family, pets, and the landscapes that have shaped her life.
