Ok. Underpaid and poor insurance from my previous employer caused me to change jobs. I had no insurance from mid September to December. Lack of insulin and proper medical care caused an infection in my foot, and it swelled to the size of a football.
I was in the hospital for 2 weeks out of pocket. BCBS then got me Medicaid and covered me retroactively into October. I paid my bill, but never got my cards.
Apparently NYS of Health cancelled my insurance for lack of paystubs to show my wages when I hadn't worked from Mid October to Mid December.
But of course I had Medicaid. Or did I? That is still unclear as to when NYS of H cancelled it because I was back at work.
I won't even go into the fiasco of Temp. Disability.
Now I don't have insurance until Feb. 1st. I am out of insulin, and the other 6 meds I take daily.
This is exactly why I went to the hospital in the first place.
Wound care is looking for money. So is the podiatrist, Lab Alliance. the anesthesiologist, and any of the unpaid bills from the hospital.
Does anyone know what I can do now?
Any changes from NY won't take effect until Feb. 9th at the soonest, while my insurance is effective on the 1st.
All I want is to fill my prescriptions before I get another hospital visit.
WTH am I supposed to do?
