DC PREMIER SERIES 3-PACK, BATMAN & NIGHTWING VS BANE by MATTEL
I finally gave in and picked up the new Amazon exclusive Mattel DC 3-pack. While it’s clearly aimed at younger collectors, these figures are surprisingly well made, even if they’re not quite perfect.
This is part of Mattel’s premier line of figures, their first outing of figures in more than six years due to McFarlane winning the license back in 2020. And like I mention before these features are geared to the younger crowd, which means there is plenty of articulation however not on par to what we older collectors are used to. The sculpting is great and articulation for what it is is pretty good but of course certain missing points like in the feet limit what kind of pose you can put them in making it a little tricky when wanting to pose it in other than a standard upright stand.
This is the fifth time Mattel has released his Batman, of course indifferent art decos but this is the first time we see Nightwing and Bane in this young series of figures. Bane comes with absolutely no accessories while Nightwing comes with his standard Escimera sticks. Batman comes with a set of pop on iron fists, which almost look like Green Lantern constructs.
This set is still available online and makes for a great starter pack for younger DC fans. If you’re interested in picking one up, I have a link pinned on my page. With all of the news Mattel dropped today focused on adult collectors, sets like this could easily fly under the radar. That might not be a bad thing, though, as there’s a good chance you’ll be able to find it at a discounted price down the road if you’re willing to wait and play your cards right.
