Early voting for the Lewisville City Council Place No. 4 runoff election started today, Tuesday, May 27, and will go through Tuesday, June 3.

Three candidates were on the May 3 general election ballot for the council seat, but no candidate received a majority of votes. The candidates in this runoff election are Lonnie E. Tipton and Joshua Chanin.

UPDATE, FRIDAY, MAY 30:
An important reminder for voters wanting to cast an early ballot at Thrive. Lewisville residents living in Dallas County WILL be able to vote at Thrive on Sunday, June 1, from Noon-6 p.m., but Denton County is not offering early voting times are Thrive this Sunday.

Early voting locations for Denton County residents in Lewisville are:

* Denton County Elections Administration, 701 Kimberly Drive, Denton
* Thrive Recreation Center, 1950 S. Valley Parkway

Hours for the above locations for Denton County:
Tuesday, May 27-Saturday, May 31: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Monday, June 2-Tuesday, June 3: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Early voting locations for Dallas County residents in Lewisville are:

* Elections Training Warehouse, 1460 Round Table Drive
* Thrive Recreation Center, 1950 S. Valley Parkway

Hours for above locations for Dallas County:
Tuesday, May 27-Friday, May 30: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday, May 31: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Sunday, June 1: Noon to 6 p.m.
Monday, June 2-Tuesday, June 3: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Election Day is Saturday, June 7. Voting hours will be 7 a.m.-7 p.m. This runoff election is open to all registered voters in Lewisville, regardless of whether they voted in the May 3 general election.

But I have the answer. I tell my son all the time: go find some girlfriends. I don’t mean girls that you’re looking to conquer. I don’t mean girls you’re looking to date. Just find girls to be your friend: talk about your life, talk about your feelings. Women have these friendships where we talk about the minutiae of the day. And men don’t have that. I’m generalizing, of course; another thing I teach my son is that there is no ‘never,’ and there is no ‘always.’ But look no further than the animal kingdom. Males just drop their seed and go conquer something else. But females grow people in ourselves; we understand deeply that life is only able to happen because of connection to others.”
