Yesterday, Jdub rumbled through the goat pasture on the tractor, mowing down the jungle like a man on a mission. Most of it’s cleared now, but before he can finish, we’ve got to take a good old-fashioned limb-picking walk. Seems the goats have been “decorating” the pasture with plenty of downed branches for us to haul off.

She’s currently expecting—and still nursing off her mom behind her, who I also think might be expecting 😝

Looks like we’ve got a few mamas-to-be roaming around, so it’s officially time for me to get in gear!
✅ Kidding pens need to be built
✅ Creep feeder needs to be finished ASAP—because the big goats have been stealing all the babies’ feed 🙄

New kids on the block! 🐐💚

Say hello to the newest additions to our homestead: Posey, Banilla Bean, and Yogurt — 7-week-old Dapple Boer triplets (two girls and one sweet little buck)!

They’re already exploring, munching greens, and melting hearts. Just look at those ears and curious eyes — total troublemakers in the making. 😍

We are completely smitten. 💕

🌾 Homestead Update 🌾

I've been hard at work developing a 5-year plan for the homestead, including a full layout for future animals and projects. One big lesson I’ve learned: if it doesn’t contribute to the financial health of the homestead, it doesn’t belong here. As much as I love animals (and yes, I want them all!), I also want this to be a sustainable venture—not something that eats away at our pockets.

This homestead isn’t just a passion project—it’s something I want to grow into a reliable source of income, not a money pit. That means being intentional about everything we add.

With Carol's health now improving and her spending more time with the herd, I’ll be wrapping up goat introductions soon! I’ll also be sharing more updates from around the homestead—new shop going in, landscaping progress, and possibly even some new fencing.

Thanks for following along on this journey—we’re just getting started! 🐐💚

Say hello to Jenny 🐐💪

Check out those horns—yep, they’re two different colors! Jenny is a true fighter with a whole lot of attitude. She doesn’t shy away from throwing down, especially with the boys. 😤

When she first got here, she went head-to-head with the Chonk himself. It got so intense they both walked away bloody—Jenny held her ground, and poor Chonk even lost his little nub horns. 😬 She may be small, but don’t let that fool you. Jenny is all brute, no fear, and 100% boss goat. 💥

Say hello to Twisted and her daughter (who still needs a name!) 🐐💕

Twisted is one of those goats that keeps us on our toes. I have a definite love-hate relationship with her. One minute she’s sweet and calm, the next she’s turning her back on you and the rest of the herd like a true drama queen. 🎭

When it comes to food, she doesn’t mess around—she’ll fight off other goats just to make sure she gets her share (and probably theirs too). 😅 But even with all her sass and attitude, we love her in our own twisted way. 💜

Meet Blondie! He’s got that classic ’80s punk rock vibe with his permanent mohawk and rebellious attitude. Always ready to throw down a head butt, he definitely holds his own around here. Blondie has been with us for a while and still likes to keep his distance from people—but he loves his lady friends. Maybe one day he’ll decide we’re cool enough to hang with, too. 🐐💥💛

🌞 **Carol Update** 🌿
We’ve got some *really* good news—Carol is making steady progress! 💚 Her FAMACHA score is slowly gaining color, and her bottle jaw is **completely gone**. No more runny stool either—her p**p is now soft but formed, like a firm soft serve (we’ll take that as a win!). 🙌

She’s grazing more on her own and happily eating her grain, alfalfa pellets, minerals, lettuce, carrots, and even eggs. 🍃🥕🥚 Today, she spent time **sunbathing**, sipping her fresh water, and just being a goat again. 🐐☀️

We still have a ways to go, but seeing her enjoy the sunshine and food again makes our hearts full. Thank you all for keeping her in your thoughts!
