Oregon Wine Press Established in 1984, Oregon Wine Press is the Who, What, When, Where of Wine in Oregon.

We are here to support all facets of the wine industry in our beloved State. Portland-area natives Richard Hopkins and Elaine Cohen started what then was named Oregon Wine Calendar in 1984. They nurtured their magazine for 22 years, promoting and growing with the Oregon wine industry. In 2006, Oregon Wine Press was acquired by the News-Register Publishing Co., a family-owned, fourth-generation publishing company in McMinnville, OR. From its base in Oregon's lush Yamhill Valley, Oregon Wine Press continues in the long tradition of excellence established by its founders. News-Register Publishing Co., owned by the Bladine family since 1928, publishes a local newspaper and the Oregon Wine Press from offices in historic downtown McMinnville. The bi-weekly News-Register is a nationally acclaimed community newspaper. The company's web printing division -- Oregon Lithoprint -- prints magazines, newspapers, books and brochures for commercial clients throughout the region.

Résolu Cellars - Urban W**ery + W**e Bar is a family and veteran-owned urban w**ery crafting small-lot w**es from premium vineyards across Oregon and Washington. Inspired by the traditions of France and Italy, and shaped by the character of the Pacific Northwest, Résolu’s collection includes award-winning Willamette Valley favorites alongside Columbia Valley Bordeaux, Rhône and Italian varietals.

Located in the heart of Historic Downtown Hillsboro, Résolu occupies a building once home to Hillsboro Glass. Before Résolu Cellars came to life, the space was envisioned as a w**ery and tasting room by its landlord, Darcy DeBord, founder of White Birch Design Co.

Darcy saw potential in the space. Her vision helped make it possible for Résolu Cellars to establish itself, bringing new energy to the area and helping revitalize this segment of Historic Downtown Hillsboro.

Darcy was sadly taken from this world in May 2026. Today, the team at Résolu continues to carry her spirit forward by honoring the vision and sense of possibility she brought to the building and the community around it.

Be sure to visit Résolu Cellars and feel the spirit of hard work and love that lives on within its walls.

What Is an AVA?

An American Viticultural Area (AVA) is a designated w**e grape-growing region in the United States. AVAs provide official geographic appellations that helps w**eries communicate where their grapes are grown and gives consumers useful information when choosing a w**e.

For consumers, an AVA is a way to know that the place named on the bottle actually matters. A region’s climate, soil, elevation and topography can influence how grapes ripen and, ultimately, the character of the w**e.

When you find a w**e you enjoy from a particular AVA, the AVA gives you a more reliable way to seek out w**es with a similar sense of place.
