This week, the stakes are rising across Warren County sports as postseason play begins for WCHS golf and the WCMS volleyball and girls soccer teams.

Elsewhere, WCHS football returns to Nunley Stadium riding a three-game winning streak for C.J. Taylor’s jersey retirement, WCMS football closes its regular season with two games, Warren County’s cross country teams compete at home and a new elementary basketball season tips off Monday.

In the final event of the Warren County A&L Fair, My Tequila Sunrise, ridden by Dickie Scrivner of Murfreesboro and owned by Anne Marie Couch, won the Walking Horse Stake award sponsored by Homeland Community Bank.

The award was presented to Scrivner by 2026 Fairest of the Fair Leela Beaty, Homeland Marketing Director Cindy Rogers and Mike Gannon, business development Homeland Woodbury branch.

As the sun sets on the final night of the 2026 Warren County A&L Fair, the Crosscut Saw Competition has wrapped up and the Walking Horse show is getting started.

The last day of the Warren County A&L Fair means it’s your last chance for a free Main Street Journal T-shirt presented by Graves Family Pharmacy, Auto World, The Cafe at Tree City and Knowles Private Wealth.

A 91-degree day hasn’t stopped a field of competitors from stepping up to show their stuff in the annual Cross Cut Saw Competition.

The nine-day Warren County A&L Fair concludes tonight with the Walking Horse Show beginning at 6:30 p.m.
