Yesterday was an amazing day at The Local, and we’re excited to keep bringing fun events, live music, bikes, and good times to Mosquito Lake all summer long. ☀️🏍️🍻

We’re also lucky to share this area with the boating and fishing community that makes Mosquito Lake such a great place for everyone to enjoy.

To keep these events going strong, we all need to work together and show respect for one another, the community, and the shared public spaces around us.

A few important reminders:
• Alcohol is not permitted in the state park parking lot or public areas.
• Please do not take drinks off our property.
• Please keep the boat launch area clear so boaters can safely access the lake.
• Please clean up after yourselves and do not leave trash in the state parking lot or surrounding areas.
• Be respectful of neighboring properties, businesses, anglers, and public spaces.

After our events, we do our best to help clean up and keep the area looking nice, and we truly appreciate everyone who helps us do the same.

We all want the same thing — a fun, safe, respectful summer where everyone can enjoy Mosquito Lake together.

Mecca Township is seeking a reliable and motivated individual to fill a part-time maintenance position. This role supports essential township operations and helps maintain public spaces, facilities, and infrastructure.

JOB DUTIES
• Road and drainage maintenance
• Grounds and cemetery care
• Facilities maintenance and cleaning
• Equipment and tool care

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: Landscaping, construction, or general maintenance preferred
Skills: Ability to operate hand tools and power equipment (mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, etc.)
Licensure: Valid driver’s license required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK CONDITIONS

Physical Labor: Lift/carry up to 80 lbs. Frequent bending, lifting, standing.
Environment: Outdoor work in all weather conditions
On-Call: Must respond to emergency call-outs (snow removal, hazardous roads)

• $15.00 per hour
• Work as needed, up to 32 hours per week
• Not to exceed 1,500 hours per year

The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) is offering a $50 benefit to help eligible seniors purchase fresh, locally grown produce at participating farmers markets.
