Area Wide Communications will be joining us again this year and we are very excited! Be sure to stop by their booth and see what all they have to offer you and your department.
Great News! Area Wide Communications has repaired our tornado siren! We will be working to install back on the pole tomorrow afternoon sometime. There will be one 2 minute test at some point tomorrow (time to be determined). There may also be periodic testing as well. Let your elderly neighbors know as well please!
The Information Technology Systems Management Program (ITSM) at TCAT McKenzie would like to show our appreciation to Netgear Inc. for their very generous donation to our program. Sherrill Belew, owner of Area Wide Communications put us in contact with his sales rep at Netgear, Rose Bell. A couple of Zoom meetings later, after talking with Rose Bell and one of Netgear Inc. network engineers, Keith Nielsen, they sent us a bunch of new hardware to work with. They asked us what type of class we have and what exactly we teach, after instructor Jon McKinney explained to them what we do in the ITSM class, they made the generous donation.
“The ITSM class at TCAT McKenzie is setup to train adult students in the field of Information Technology. We start off with the very basics of computer repair, and move into networking, copper and fiber optic cabling, VoIP phones/telephony, information security, and finally end with server maintenance. We have over one hundred hands on skills tests that test the students using real world hardware in real world scenarios. We believe that having the theoretical knowledge is only part of the equation, the practical application of that knowledge is paramount in being a valuable technician in the information technology field.”
After finding out what we do and that we put students to work into the IT field in the surrounding area, Netgear said they would like to be a part of our training and offered to send us some of their hardware for free. We just received a big box full of Netgear hardware, three switches and three access points; our students couldn’t be happier to have more enterprise equipment to train with. They sent us one M4250-10G2XF-PoE+ switch, one ProSafe GS728TP switch, one ProSafe S3300-28X-PoE+ switch, two ProSafe WAC510 access points, and one ProSafe WAC540 access point.
From the ITSM class at TCAT McKenzie, we would like to say thank you to Netgear Inc. for helping us train the next generation of IT technicians!
Area Wide Communications in Medina, TN donated several VoIP phones to the Information Technology Systems Management (ITSM) class at TCAT McKenzie. Owner Sherrill Belew, made the generous donation to the class after finding out that we teach VoIP / Telephony and the training equipment we use is only set up for Avaya phones. Areawide has hired several of the ITSM class students over the years and Sherrill felt that it would help us and help them if they were to hire more students, they had experience with some of the hardware their company uses and supports. We would like to show our appreciation to Sherrill and the entire crew at Areawide Communications for the very generous donation!
Hey to everyone new in the group!! We want to take a moment and introduce ourselves and tell a little bit of what we do. Area Wide Communications sells and services two way radios, vehicle upfitting, tower erections, cell boosters, and tornado warning sirens. We also offer badges and flashlights. We have two locations to serve you. One in Medina, TN and the other in Baldwyn, MS.

We want to thank you for joining our group. Feel free to share with your friends. Stay tuned for a FREE GIVEAWAY !!!
