On today's 3-11 shift we received multiple reports of people receiving phone calls from parties claiming to be HPD Detectives, but these parties had actually spoofed our number (made it LOOK like we were calling from our number to add to the "authenticity", but they were really using a different number to do so). These "HPD Detectives" were scammers trying to gain personal information through "Intimidation Scamming" (scare tactics). Sometimes we will ask you to confirm your identity so we know we are talking to the correct person or pulling the right report, but we will never ask you for your Social Security number.

If you ever receive a phone call from us and are concerned it may not be real, please just ask for our name (so dispatch knows who to connect you with), politely let us know you're going to hang up to call the business line, and then call us back. That way YOU know what number you're connected with because YOU called it! Our business line is 508-429-1212 so you can ALWAYS call that and request to speak with the officer or admin whose name you took down before disconnecting.

Multiple 9-1-1 calls were received at 5:29 PM on Wednesday, October 23, reporting a barn fire on Franklin Street.

The fire department responded and extinguished the fire before it extended to the nearby residential structure. While crews were conducting the initial knockdown, the Central Fire station was briefly covered by an engine from Medway Fire Department.

Personnel were assisted on scene with incident management functions by chiefs from Medway Fire, Sherborn Fire & Rescue Department and Maynard, MA Fire Department, while the Holliston Police Department maintained traffic control points and limited access.

There were no injuries.

UPDATE 7:20PM: Winter St is back open! There is a tree on Hollis St resting against the wires now. Eversource has checked it and will be addressing it at a later time.

⚠️ There is a tree down on power lines blocking the road at 245 Winter St. Please detour via Short Rd and Woods Crossing.

5:36PM: Eversource has a delayed response due to numerous calls from the storm. They are expected in the area by 7PM. Please be patient and we’ll update you when we can!!

At 6:48 AM on Friday, August 2, Chief Cassidy and the on-duty ambulance responded to a head-on motor vehicle crash on Washington Street. One driver was transported to Milford Regional Medical Center by Holliston A-2. A second driver was transported to MetroWest Medical Center by Sherborn Fire & Rescue Department A-1. A third driver denied injury, and a signed patient refusal was obtained.

Hometown Automotive Service, Sales, Autobody & Towing towed three vehicles from the scene. Traffic control and crash investigation was handled by the Holliston Police Department.
