25 years later, we remember. 🇺🇸🫶🏼
This morning I went to Nathan Benderson Park here in Sarasota for the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb & Day of Remembrance.
I did NOT go there planning to participate. 😂 I was just there to watch and document the event. Then I felt like I needed to at least do a few climbs.
A few somehow turned into 17 climbs, the equivalent of the 110 stories of one of the Twin Towers.🏙️
And believe me, I took my sweet time. 😂 I stopped. I rested. I ate. I drank. At 7 I thought I was done. Then I told myself, let’s just make it to 10. And once I got to 10… well, there were only 7 left.🤷🏼♀️
Somehow, I finished. 🥳
⏱️ 3h 18m
🚶♀️ 4.03 miles
⛰️ 1,182 ft elevation gain
🏢 17 climbs / 110 stories
Every time I wanted to stop, I reminded myself why we were climbing and thought about the victims and the first responders who answered the call that day.💔
What I thought would be an event I came to document became an experience I will never forget.✨
In memory of the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001.🙏🏼🕊️
Twenty-five years later, we still remember. Never forget. 🇺🇸
