In Michigan, since the Auto Company collapse in 1979. Michigan is afraid to try anything. They think everything will fail. dick slyder was a Goddamn liar about the film tax incentives. And the new Governor wants to raise gas taxes by 45 cents a gallon "To Fix The Roads". we've been already ripped off 6 other times with that 'fix the roads bullsh*t.' The roads will never be fixed with double the axle weight limit than any other State for truckers, and will never be fixed with gooey blacktop. They have to be built right with actual concrete. So as I've said I hate both parties. So I'm going to condemn the new (D) Governor too for her lack of understanding of the film industry. Not one of the State's understand the film industry at all, which makes them think they have to hire locals .Except maybe California, and Georgia and one or two others. The idiotic notion that films don't create full times jobs, shows politicians don't know sh*t about the film industry. Nobody works on 1 movie for 30 years and retires. It takes 5-6 days to film a one hour Tv episode, and 3 months to film a Feature film (movie). If they're good at what they do ,they go straight from 1 film project onto another. I did 9 films in a row in Michigan in 2010.Snyder lied about films only bringing back 10 cents on every dollar. When I quoted from the Michigan film office files directly, that in 2009 we paid out $64 million in film tax incentives but took in $224 million. Then he lies and tells taxpayers they have to fund it with their tax money. Which anyone that doesn't understand that is just a plain retard. If you're tripleing your money, nobody is paying for it with their measly taxes. And even if you had been, it would have cost a family of 4 $1,50 a year in taxes to keep 11,000 film jobs in the State, but taxpayers weren't paying for the incentives, if anything they paid less taxes because of them. Another Snyder lie , every film got 42% in film tax incentives. Only 4 or 5 films received that under the guideline that the 42% was ONLY for films that employed all Michigan people. All the rest of the films made here only qualified for 30% film tax incentives ,because they didn't use all Michigan people. Then this is how stupid Snyder and all states are. If you employ only locals, people here already live here, they already eat here. People from out of state have to rent a room, and those stars aren't going to stay at some cheap hotel, everyone from out of state will have to buy food 3 times a day, money that the state would not be getting without them. The teamsters here were making more money than everyone on every film, except the biggest stars, for just sitting outside the film location, with a truck full of movie supplies, just in case something was needed. Lumber was bought to build all the sets and soundstages. All the money spent here on catering to feed everyone on every film. The very first thing Snyder saw on his desk when he took office was a bill for $200,000 from 'Gran Torino". and he didn't have the brains to see what that film spent here. Before Snyder was elected I was in a two minute TV commercial warning people not to vote for him. I mentioned every stupid move he would make over the next 8 years, except I couldn't have predicted that he would poison all the small children in Flint with Flint river water, known to corrode Cadillac engine blocks in 1912. How would I know our Governor was the only person that couldn't spell "Google". Google Flint River Water. He claimed he didn't know the water was bad until December of 2011. All he had to do is google to know Flint River water ate metal 99 years earlier. Now the children in Flint are permanently 10%-15% retarded for the rest of their lives.
