G O O D B Y E M E M P H I S
In numerology the number 9, as it is the last single-digit number, represents the end of a cycle before a new one begins.
Now, a cycle has run its course!
You might consider it a pure coincidence, but after living in Memphis for the past nine years it’s time for me to conclude a cycle and begin a new one.
I’m moving to Nashville, Tennessee, starting October 1st.
So, on the move again, “and it’s funny how time slips away”, and seems it was just yesterday when I got to Memphis, that July 29th 2016, all the way from across the pond. Even this time I’ve got some mixed feelings…There’s happiness, excitement, but also there’s uncertainty and some fear, even though all the friends who know me well, they know that I don’t let fear limit my life.
Moreover, this time I know America and Americans a bit more than 9 years ago and, most of all, I have a wonderful wife who loves me and supports me. This makes a huge difference and it brings more excitement for sure.
Memphis gave me my American Identity, like I was born here.
Memphis, a city full of contradictions, full of weird dynamics, full of incredible energies, the city who gave birth to rock’n’roll, the music that changed my life.
Nine long years in the “Bluff City”, this tough town where I’ve learned how to deal with America and Americans.
Memphis has adopted me like one of its native sons and I’ll always be grateful for that. I want to thank all the people who have welcomed me, who have helped me, who have supported me, who have encouraged me. I met so many special human beings here and I made so many friends that it’s impossible to mention them one by one. They know!
I also want to thank those ones who have put some nega(sh*t)tivity around me, politely, silently, sometimes even explicitly! They gave me awareness that certain kind of things are all the same around the world and if you know how to deal with them, if you don’t get overwhelmed by them, they’ll become your strength.
Now It’s time to write new pages.
See you Memphis, until next time.
Nashville, here I come!

He was the first one who has photographed me in Memphis, now he's the last one. That makes sense!
