The U.S. Senate just voted to eliminate all federal funding for public broadcasting—$1.1 billion wiped out, including support for over 1,500 stations like WYXR.
For us, that’s an immediate 10% cut to our budget—funding we rely on to uplift Memphis voices, celebrate local culture, and keep our programming free to the public. It’s a direct assault on everything WYXR stands for.
