It’s Senior Season! Whether it’s guys or the gals, all the Seniors come with a bit of a nervous wall up. So if I gotta crack jokes, give you something to do with your hands, or make ya walk like a drunk person…. We are going to crack that shell until the true you shines through!

Why do I say we are doing "Life Unscripted" sessions these days? Because anyone, not just kids, will be struggling to show genuine joy when you are told to "Sit, stay, now SMILEEEE." And congrats to you if you have your life together and can create perfection when it comes to getting ready for photos. But most of us are on the struggle bus to find the perfect outfits for everyone, make sure everyone is in a good mood, and making it on time. So as long as you get the outfits.... lets just go out there and have fun and ditch the stress! Let kids be kids. Let you be you. Have a drink before if needed. Life isnt scripted! So lets not act like it is! I look forward to fall fun with everyone!

CONTRACT UPDATE! I have seen the news and am aware of the misuse of AI on photos. So there will be a change in my contract since the sharing of images is basically my whole job.

This is one of those "God is always on time" moments in life for me. Why? Because if it weren't for the recent issue of people stealing my photos by screen shotting them then I would never know how to deal with this situation. You see, it was even taken a step further and people started to try and use AI to remove my watermark off their stolen photo. I say the word "try" because none of them were fully successful in completely removing the watermark without distorting the image OR leaving trace of the watermark behind.

This inspired me to re-do my watermark used for sports shots to make it even more difficult, if not impossible to remove the watermark using AI. In doing this I did tons and tons of research to see what goes into confusing the absolute hell out of AI. I wanted to make it so that it would distort the image so much that it was unuseable no matter how much you tried to get AI to figure it out. What did I learn after putting forth these practices and running them through AI OVER AND OVER AND OVER? Well this.... AI uses a technique that analyzes the pixels around it to reconstruct what should be there under the watermark. A huge part of that is that it can color match and use lights and shadows to guess what it should look like. Therefore the use of gradient colors, lights, and text helps confuse the programming because it alters the light and color of the image under it leaving AI to fill in the blanks and guess at what it should be. So by me using the watermark with bright spots and varying gradient text it causes AI to distort the image underneath making it look like a different person.

Ok, that was a lot of information I know. But I needed to inform everyone that I have already done my due diligence in research on preventing AI from being able to successfully manipulate my hard work!

My contract has always had a media release on it as is. So you have always been able to choose yes or no for media release for sneak peaks and advertisements. NOW THE UPDATED VERSION WILL GIVE YOU A 3RD OPTION. Your contract options are now
Permission to release and use images for sneak peaks, ads, and social media:
(. )Yes - Full permissions
( )Yes - Partial permissions with facial recognition protection
(. ) No

Full permissions will of course be a full release as normal. Partial will be permission but with protection of their faces via watermark, side views, or cropping to that their faces are protected.

This day and age theres no way to fully prevent crazies from every aspect of your life. And we would literally have to live under a rock to not be seen by a camera as they are everywhere all day every day. We can let that dictate how we share the joys in our life or fight back with faith and fighting the fear. Ive been battling AI for a while now and am choosing to not let it win!

It is International Day of Charity. Because I have worked with little kiddos pretty much my whole entire life and have one of my own, I have always chose charities that benefit children in some way. As soon as Jo would walk, I would take my tips from you all in the fall and buy toys she chose to donate for the Toys for Tots program. Last year after she herself had a stay at LeBonheur Childrens Hospital, we decided to switch it up and donate back to them for all that they gave her during her stay. We also support the Augustus the warrior foundation because although we live near St.Jude, There are still sooooo many children battling cancer who need help around the country.
Although this year may look different on how much I am able to give back due to our crazy circumstances this year, I will do my best to give back in any way that I can. Part of that is encouraging you to find a way to give back too. Lend a hand, donate, or just find a way to support someone, somewhere, at sometime.

In my best Grinch Voice "BUT WHAT DO I WEAR?" 🤣
For some seniors is obvious what their senior session should be like. For some, not so much. So as a photographer, here is my helpful tips & tricks!
- Bring your personality! For most of you, you're just doing photos because your momma made you. I get it. BUT shes gonna blow them up, hang them up, share them, and who knows what else. SO would you rather that be a goofy, forced smile lookin photo or one you dont mind everyone and their momma looking at for years to come? Exactly. So if your personality is a country boy with your truck... bring the boots and the truck. If you're not a girly girl and play a sport, bring the ball or whatever it is. BE YOU! I will gladly go fishing, run through a field, or whatever to get you as you! Ive had someone take pics with a cow and we. loved it!
- Sure bring the dress up clothes for a couple but you can also bring what your comfortable in. If you arent confident in the outfit, dont wear it. It shows.
-If you are a sports senior and want pics on school property, we have to have permission to be there. Make sure you ask a coach or an admin beforehand.
-Think about your vibes before you book. If you want to be in a sweater with the warm and moody vibes of fall.... Dont book your session when its still 100 degrees outside and everything is still green.
-SESSIONS ARE ONLY AVAILABLE 30 DAYS OUT! So if you want to book 3 months from now you need to wait until that month for the date to be available.
