Why I Write
I write because I’m curious. I write because it gives me a reason to ask questions. From CEOs of major corporations, to musicians, to the guy down the street who is doing something really cool, writing gives me a reason to talk to people, to learn from them, to tell their stories.
I write because I’m good at it. Since 2001, I’ve had over 2600 articles published in magazines, newspapers, business journals and trade publications. I am a regular contributor to 15 publications. I think that’s because I write clean and I’m dependable. I am deadline-driven. I like doing it. I wake up every day and write. I am blessed to do what I do.
I write because I love to read. I respect good writing. I want to help others with their writing. Growing, learning and improving as a writer is important to me. That’s why I joined the Mississippi Writers Guild. I’m now the president of the statewide organization whose mission is to give all writers a voice. I hope more writers and aspiring writers will join us. www.mississippiwritersguild.com.
